Description:

Dreaming of Space tells the story of a boy named Kai, who goes camping under the stars with his grandfather. When Kai falls asleep, he dreams that friendly aliens take him on a journey across the universe. They see black holes, neutron stars, nebulae, and the aliens’ extraordinary home galaxy. Kai learns all about outer space and sees how the aliens live in harmony on their beautiful ringed planet.

Includes a Did you know? section at the end of the book that has more details on the history of each place Harlow visited.

About the Author / Illustrator:

Grant Collier has been working as a photographer and writer since 1996 and is the author of 17 books. He has traveled to 18 different countries, but his most difficult trip was a 200 trillion mile journey to photograph planet Zorbose. To depict the background scenes in this book, Grant combined his photos and illustrations with images from large telescopes. He then added Stephanie’s drawings to complete each scene.

Stephanie Lowman has been sketching and painting for over thirty years. She grew up in a small town, where friendly space aliens often visited her. Her drawings in this book are based on secret photos she took of these aliens. Stephanie drew all of the aliens, people, animals, and spaceships line-by-line using an iPad and iPencil. She currently lives in Colorado and is the illustrator of all six of the “Dreaming of...” series of children’s books.
